The combination of our personnel philosophy and the nature of long-term care provide opportunities and challenges beyond those in most traditional nursing roles.

Managerial opportunity. Nurses move quickly into managerial positions, directing and overseeing the care. We often assist people with their career movement through special training and educational assistance.

Autonomy. Our nurses are guided by experienced physicians and specialists, but a great portion of patient-care decisions rests in their hands. Long-term care nurses have the freedom and responsibility to implement these decisions. Nurses monitor patient conditions, develop care plans and determine the need for emergency or other medical care.

Regular schedules. Our stable census and predictable need for nursing care allow us to offer stable working hours with a greater degree of flexibility than in most nursing positions.

People-centered nursing. Long-term care centers around the whole person, therefore relationships and close interaction with the residents are vital parts of treatment. For many residents, the facility is home and the staff become like family. Nurses have time to truly get to know the people they care for.

Our Area

Surrounded by the majestic Cascade Mountains, Wenatchee lies in a quiet valley of rolling hills and tailored orchards. Its sunny, moderate climate and natural beauty make it an area of recreational and agricultural abundance.

Rugged, snowy peaks rise above the hills to cradle pristine lakes and feed the Columbia River which winds through the valley floor. Recreational opportunities abound: skiing, fishing, sailing, rock climbing, rafting, hiking, snow-mobiling. Each of the four seasons offers a beauty and opportunity of its own.

Mission Ridge ski area is just 12 miles from Wenatchee. Lake Chelan, a 55-mile-long reservoir, and some of the most popular rock climbing and rafting spots in the Northwest are less than an hour away.

Wenatchee is centrally located not only to recreation areas, but also to a major economic hub. Seattle lies approximately two hours west through the Cascade Mountains. The Wenatchee area, including East Wenatchee, Cashmere, Leavenworth, Entiat, and Chelan also thrives economically and has a historically stable economy. It is best known for its fruit, producing nearly half the state's apple crop in addition to cherries, peaches and pears. Because of its abundance and beauty, Wenatchee is hailed as the apple of Washington's eye.
